The Difference Between Blog and Blog Post

Posted March 9, 2017 | Laura Christianson

All bloggers have blogging pet peeves. My biggie is when people incorrectly refer to a blog post or blog article as a blog.

A blog post is an ARTICLE you publish on your blog.

A blog is the PUBLICATION on which you publish a post.

You would never say, “I wrote a newspaper,” or “I wrote a magazine.”

The same rule applies to blogging. When you say, “I wrote a blog,” that implies you published an entire blog, with multiple articles.

When referring to a single article on your blog, the correct usage is, “I wrote a blog post.”

Thank you for joining my one-woman crusade on behalf of politically correct blogging lingo!

❤ this POST on my Instagram account if you want to join my peaceful demonstration.

Completely agreed. I really admire the simplicity and easiness in the blog post. Keen to know when will I get to read more posts like this.
